Meet Our Director: Christy McIntire
Since becoming the center director in 2006, Christy has become known in the community as a warm and dedicated center director. She holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a minor in special education from West Chester University, a Center Director’s Credential from the Pennsylvania Key and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in early childhood education at Arcadia University. With this busy schedule, she still manages to find time to serve on the Delaware County Early Childhood Educators Association Board of Directors. Prior to becoming a director, she taught kindergarten in a local child care center for seven years which provided her with experiences and insights that have served her well in her current position. I love working with young children at our Center because they are so vibrant and the atmosphere is alive with fun-filled and meaningful activities. It keeps me young, said Christy. During her leisure time, she enjoys reading, spending time outdoors and attending graduate school classes.
K’tonton Early Learning Center is an intimate and welcoming center staffed by an experienced teaching and administrative team. Content areas such as reading, math, science and art are integrated into a central theme that makes learning fun and meaningful. Staff encourage children to learn through discovery and exploration. Parents are actively involved in the center and families develop strong connections. Our enclosed playground develops healthy bodies and minds. Children regularly use synagogue facilities and the Rabbi visits our classrooms to work with our kids. The Center’s diverse population adds to its already rich curriculum. Multicultural activities include the ethnic backgrounds of all of the children in the classroom.
