Meet Our Director: Kelly Haines

For as long as she can remember, Kelly has wanted to work in early childhood education.  Her love of young children, her belief that laying a solid foundation during the first five years is critical and her strong interpersonal and organizational skills, make her well suited for this position.  Kelly earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education from Holy Family College and a master’s degree in Curriculum Instruction.

Kelly, a native of Bucks County, resides with her husband and their four year old son.

I find that being able to watch children learn and grow on a daily basis is so meaningful and rewarding, said Kelly.  My strong background in special education gives me the skills needed to support teachers to better understand the diverse needs of all of our students. Since I started at Lassin as the Assistant Director, I have had the opportunity to work collaboratively and form positive relationships with the children, teachers and parents at the Center.  I look forward to continuing to build on those relationships since parents and teachers are at the core of the learning process for young children.

She enjoys spending time and going on trips with her family and likes to read in her spare time.

Center Information

Lassin Early Learning Center , for over 36 years, is a diverse and welcoming Center led by degreed and experienced teachers and administrative staff. Using The Creative Curriculum and the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math,) process of integration and collaboration, children work together on a topic to explore, investigate, discover and tinker. Head Start and Pre-K Counts classrooms have been a part of the Center for many years. Parents are involved in the center and families develop strong connections. With enclosed playgrounds for each age group, we help develop healthy bodies and minds. Jewish programming and multicultural activities expose our children to the diverse ethnic backgrounds of all of the children in the classroom.

Lassin is also the home of the Kate’s Secret Garden, established in memory of Kate Svitek, the granddaughter of Bob and Hope Clair, FELS supporters for over 35 years. It provides a beautiful place for the children to exercise, play and explore, while learning to love nature as Kate did.
