Administrative Assistant-Gutman ELC

The ideal candidate will:

  • Provide assistance in maintaining a quality child care program which reflects the philosophy of Federation Early Learning Services and adheres to the parameters of state and federal requirements
  • Answer and screen all incoming telephone calls, route calls to appropriate individuals, provide routine information and take messages as directe
  • Greet and direct all visitors
  • Maintain visitor sign in system
  • Ensure that all parents and visitors respond properly to the fire alarm (and fire drill procedures
  • Type and proofread a variety of work including memos and letters
  • Assist in planning and organizing special events and programs (e.g. Purim Carnival)
  • Enter into PELICAN system all data required by the State
  • Maintain center calendar, update meetings and appointments
  • Organize and maintain children and staff files
  • Prepare check requests weekly
  • Assist with enrollment paperwork

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years administrative assistant or related experience
  • Highly knowledgeable of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook programs
  • Some experience using Microsoft Publisher and PowerPoint
  • Excellent spelling, grammatical, mathematical and verbal/written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to make good decisions and exercise good judgment
  • Willingness to periodically work a longer shift for office coverage
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
